Former nominated senator Joy Gwendo has been sentenced to a two-year jail term. This is after she was found guilty of abuse of office and fraud. Chief magistrate Douglas Ogoti said Gwendo was a dishonest person who failed to honor a plea with the state requiring her to return shillings 1.7 m debt as part of settling the case.
