Kenyan Government, World Bank to launch National Electrification Strategy

The Kenyan government through the ministry of energy, in conjunction with the World Bank, will be launching the Kenya national electrification strategy (KNES) 2018 –2022. This will be by way of hosting a national electrification conference and an international exhibition, under the theme achieving universal access to electricity by 2022. The Kenya national electrification strategy (KNES) is designed to provide a road?map to full electrification access (universal access) by identifying the least cost and most effective solutions for electrification coverage in Kenya. During the event, the government will also launch the electricity?sector investment prospectus which presents investment opportunities in the energy sector over the next 5 years at an estimated cost of $14.8 billion.
