Three KCSE candidates at St. Paul’s Waita secondary school in Mwingi central, Kitui county were arrested early morning today, after they were cornered perusing through three mobile phones which were suspected to contain leaked examination materials. According to Mwingi central police OCPD John Nyamu, the trio were caught by the school principal in dormitory revising using mobile phones. The head teacher then alerted the police who came in first to arrest the school boys. After police interrogation, the three students were allowed to continue with their exams, as Mwingi police hold the said phones for further probe. Just yesterday, the ministry of education cancelled the registration of four candidates who were reportedly found cheating using mobile phones. Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed says exam officials will stay on high alert to ensure exam integrity
