Traders operating their businesses in Nairobi’s Gikomba market incurred heavy losses after a mysterious fire gutted down their premises. 

Property worth millions of shillings was destroyed by the early morning inferno. The cause of the fire was not immediately established.

Gikomba market has over the years experienced numerous fire incidents, the worst being in June this year where 15 people were killed and dozens others injured. Witnesses say the fire started at around 3am.
