Maize farmers today got a major reprieve after the government announced that they will receive their dues next week for the maize they delivered to the national cereals and produce board.
Deputy President William Ruto said today that Ksh 2.1billion had been released to pay all the farmers who had not received their dues. He further announced that NCPB had been instructed to start purchasing maize for this year. He was speaking during the first anniversary of the late catholic diocese of Eldoret
