Chairperson of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission Wafula Chebukati was put to task to explain whether the commission authorized the Dismissed Chief Executive Officer, Ezra Chiloba to undertake a direct Procurement of the KIEMS kits. Chebukati had told members that Chiloba Brought to the attention of commissioners on the need for direct procurement and commissioners resolved the purchase should proceed in accordance with the law. Pushed for further clarification, Chebukati said the commissioners approved the direct procurement because of the limited timelines and that OT Morpho was already managing the voter register and had assured IEBC it would ensure the KIEMS kits are compatible with the voter register.
