Kenyans may be forced to pay more for maize flour should millers make good their threat to increase the price of the commodity. The united grain millers association has warned that a shortage may be in the offing since farmers are hesitant to sell their produce since they expect the government to buy it at Sh.3, 000 per bag. The increase which could be effected as early as next week will see a two kilogram packet of maize flour retail at ksh.100 up from the current ksh.75.the millers have apportioned blame to the government for promising to buy maize from farmers at Sh. 3,000 shillings which has led to farmers hoarding the commodity.
