Obado tastes freedom as court releases him on KSH5M bond

24th October, 2018

Migori Governor Okoth Obado will rejoin his family after 4 weeks in prison. this comes after High Court Judge Jessie Lessit handed the embattled governor a  Sh5million cash bail in the murder case of Sharon Otieno and her unborn child.

Lesiit further imposed two sureties of Sh5 million each and ordered Obado to deposit his travel documents including all his passports in court. Governor Obado's personal aides Michael Oyamo and Casper Obiero were however denied bail with Justice Lessit stating that their freedom would intimidate witnesses in the case. The Prosecution stated that they would be calling 30 witnesses in the case. The pre?trial hearing has been set for February 14 next year.
