About 500 godowns situated in Embakasi area near Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, are earmarked for demolition in a move that will see over 30, 000 jobs lost. The said godowns and other structures are listed as being illegal and having been illegally erected on a land owned by the Kenya airports authority. Following the expiry of a notice, the affected traders are now calling for its variation to give them time to relocate their businesses.
