3000 metres world record holder Beatrice Chepkoech and world marathon record holder Eliud Kipchoge are the Sports Personalities for the months of August and September respectively. Chepkoech won the 3000 metres steeplechase crown at the African senior athletics championships in Asaba Nigeria in a championship record of 8 minutes 59.88 seconds. Kipchoge got the accolade after setting a new marathon world record of 2 hours 2 minute 39 seconds on September 16 at the berlin marathon, slicing 1 minute 18 seconds from the previous record.
