At least 42 people are feared dead, several others injured after a PSV vehicle they were travelling with was involved in an accident at Tunnel area, Kericho County.

The Kakamega-bound Western Cross Express bus, with 52 on-board, plunged into a valley in the area, along the Londiani-Muhoroni road.

Confirming the incident, Rift Valley Traffic boss Zero Arome said that the driver of the bus, heading to Kisumu direction, lost control, plunging down the slope.

Rescue operations are underway as the injured are being rushed to Kericho District Hospital
