Politicians differ on referendum calls as Ruto changes tone

6th October, 2018

KANU Chairman who also doubles up as Baringo Senator Gideon Moi and  President Uhuru Kenyatta condemn leaders obsessed with the 2022 succession politics at the expense of the country’s development.

The president says the continuing exchanges among leaders is creating unnecessary political tension which is scaring away potential investors.

Moi says the push for constitutional reforms through a referendum is inevitable due to the many challenges the country is faced with. Moi has urged leaders to create a good environment that will enable the public to have an informed debate on the review of the constitution. Several opposition leaders have also added their voice on the referendum debate.
