In what could freshly shape the line of investigations into the murder of Rongo university student Sharon Otieno, the court today rejected Migori governor Okoth Obado's application for bail on grounds that the case was still an active investigation.

Obado will remain at the Nairobi remand prison for at least 11 more nights.  High court judge Jessie Lessit directed that Obado's bail question be consolidated with the others in the case and determination given on October 8th.
