The murder of a pregnant 26 year Sharon Otieno and her foetus is likely to open a legal debate on whether the suspects on trial can be charged for double homicide. The office of the director of public prosecution is considering to amend the charge sheet to include the murder of the foetus which according to investigators was stabbed during the gruesome murder. And although the constitution is clear on when life begins, legal minds seem to be divided on whether the state can sustain charges on the murder of a foetus when the suspects are already facing a murder charge.
