A somber mood engulfed Syokisinga village in Yatta during the burial of 2 among four students who drowned in river Athi while on a geographical tour. A section of the parents called on the school head teacher and the board of governors to step aside until investigations into the incident are concluded. Former area MP Francis Mwangangi has threatened to lead protests at the school should the head teacher not step aside.
