The death toll in Tanzania’s ferry disaster has hit 100 as friends, families and relatives of the victims who perished following the Thursday accident mourn.
The ferry, which is reported to have a capacity of 100 passengers, was plying between Bugorara and Ukala islands in Tanzania.
Efforts of retrieving the bodies are still underway.
In 1996, a ferry disaster on Lake Victoria in the same region killed at least 500 people. in 2012, at least 145 people died in a ferry disaster in Tanzania's semi-autonomous of Zanzibar in the Indian ocean, on a vessel that was overcrowded.
