Forestry cabinet secretary Keriako Tobiko reiterated Mau evictions will continue

16th September, 2018

Forestry cabinet secretary Keriako Tobiko has reiterated that the second phase of evictions in the Maasai Mau forest will continue despite the tribal clashes experienced in areas bordering the forest land. Tobiko has condemned the clashes in Narok and Njoro, wondering why such unrest would occur just after the first phase of evictions.

He was speaking during the second anniversary memorial of late veteran politician William ole Ntimama in Narok south. Other leaders present called for the restoration of the Mau forest complex and urged the government not to relent in its effort to restore it
