Even as lawmakers and the public continue piling pressure on President Uhuru Kenyatta to assent to the finance bill of 2018 that will suspend the implementation of the 16% tax levy on petroleum products for 2 years, tonight, it is emerging that the bill is yet to reach the president’s in?tray. The bill is still in parliament being fine-tuned by the legal teams. This even as legislators who are currently on recess plan to attend an informal Kamukunji tomorrow at parliament building to petition the speaker to reconvene the house in a bid to deliberate the way forward following uproar from the public over the high cost of fuel and other commodities.
