A spot check by KTN News confirmed that matatu operators have indeed made good their threat to hike fares following the decision by government to slap additional taxes on petroleum products starting 1st September. Those travelling upcountry from Nairobi will now have to cough between Ksh 200 and Ksh 300 above what they used to pay.
