LANCET given go ahead to conduct athletes’ biological passport blood tests

Lancet Kenya Laboratory has been given the go ahead to conduct athletes biological passport blood tests by the world anti-? doping agency for analysis. The lab becomes the firts laboratory in east and central Africa to conduct the doping tests. The operations will kick off this September where the lab is expected to analyse between 800 and 1000 blood samples a year, as part of the athletics integrity unit doping control programme in Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Tanzania and Eritrea.
