Deputy President William Ruto has dismissed a report by Ipsos that ranked him among the most corrupt individuals in Kenya.
While speaking at his Karen home where he hosted a delegation from Kirinyaga County, Ruto said the report was part of a scheme by detractors of the Jubilee administration, to spread propaganda on the government's track record.
Ruto added that he has become a punching bag for "political lightweights" in the country who, he said, cannot compete with the government on its development milestones.
“When they are through with the headlines and the corruption propaganda, let us meet at the development arena of the people of Kenya because that is where the real contest is," Ruto said.
Kirinyaga County Governor Anne Waiguru who was also mentioned alongside the deputy president in the Ipsos survey as being corrupt, has threatened to take legal action against the poll body for defamation.
