Deputy President William Ruto has won the 2018 lifetime achievement award during the young achiever's awards held in Kampala, Uganda.  

Accepting the award Ruto noted that his contribution specifically in the development and transformation of young people had been acknowledged.

He called on the youths to take their rightful position in the society and shape Africa’s development. Calling on them not to underestimate their power to transform the continent by the old?dated notion that their time will come tomorrow.
