The one shilling and 53 cents rise is expected to see the cost of living shoot up as Kenyans buckle up to pay more for transport and basic goods. Although diesel and kerosene prices dropped by a small margin hard times linger as the government prepares to place a 16% value added tax on fuel products from September which will push many to the edge.
