The demolition of Oshwal Center in Westlands is underway.

This comes just a day after the Ukay Mall also located in Westlands was demolished, in a move aimed at reclaiming riparian land.

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko had made it clear that the multi-billion shillings Oshwal Center would be demolished, warning that over 4000 building in the county had been marked for demolition.

According to Nema, the buildings had been given a three-month notice, which expired on Sunday.

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Thursday vowed to support the ongoing quest to reclaim riparian land.
