The ‘secret’ is finally out on the source of Deputy President William Ruto’s alleged Sh1 billion chopper; it was loaned to him by Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria.

Mr Kuria made the ‘announcement’ on his ownership of the Airbus H145 at a function in Murang’a county on Friday.

Mr Ruto himself ‘confirmed’ that he had in deed borrowed the chopper from Mr Kuria to enable him traverse several parts of the country.

He was speaking during a tour of Murang’a county where he oversaw the start of several initiatives including the launch of Metumi Councillors' Sacco at Kenol in Muranga County.

Ruto also officiated over a fundraiser in support of Maragua Education Endowment Fund at Thara Secondary School in Kamahuha.

Kalenjin leaders allied to the deputy president were recently in the eye of a storm following their open opposition to a lifestyle audit announced by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

They argued that the announcement of the audit was targeted at Mr Ruto to stall his presidential ambition as he looks to succeed Mr Kenyatta in 2022.

In June while at the coast to officially open the first phase of the Dongo Kundu Bypass, Mr Kenyatta said all public officials would be subjected to a lifestyle audit to establish the source of their wealth.

Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has since gone on record saying the audit, if not done across the board, could be a threat to the unity of the Jubilee Party.
