Kenya joined the rest of the world in marking world day against human trafficking. The international labour organization estimates that 21 million people are victims of forced labour globally, most of them being victims of human trafficking. This year, the commemoration focuses on responding to trafficking of children and young people. The United Nations office on drugs and crime (UNODC) preliminary data indicates that children make up almost 30 percent of all human trafficking victims worldwide.
