The Ethics and Anti?corruption commission now wants police barred from investigating any graft cases apparently due to what it calls the tainted image of the service. Instead, the commission prefers that the office of the director of public prosecutions to investigate all corruption and economic crime cases. EACC vice?chairperson Sophia Lepuchirit says the office of the DPP alongside the EACC are able to handle, investigate and deal with corruption cases. However, Lepuchirit decried shortage of staff in the two departments, stating additional capacity to speed up the course of justice.
