Governor Sonko seems to have forgiven Chandarana supermarkets

30th July, 2018

It is business as usual at Chandarana Supermarkets despite Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko cancellation of the Supermarkets licenses over racial bias. Governor Sonko has been faulted for ordering the revocation of business licenses of Chandarana Foodplus supermarket chain, with some legal minds stating that Sonko’s action was uncalled for since he has no powers to issue such orders singlehandedly. They have challenged the Capital County to follow due procedures in hounding the supermarket chain. Chandarana supermarket came to the limelight following a post on social media stating offers to Asians and Kenyans while stating that 'white ‘people would only be considered for international business. The management of Chandarana has already apologized for the sentiments stating that the message was written by a new employee.
