The Ministry of Education disburses remaining funds to meet free day secondary education

The Ministry of Education has disbursed remaining 6.5 billion shilling to public secondary schools to meet term two free day secondary education (fdse) requirements for students. The cabinet secretary for education, amb Amina Mohamed says the government has fully sent the 30% free day secondary education funds to secondary school accounts. The government had until last week not cleared 11% of the outstanding fdse amounts out of the 22, 240 shillings it owed each student in public secondary schools during the 2017/18 financial year. Many services nearly ground to a halt in schools with suppliers and support staff going for months without being paid
