Seven students at Kisumu Girls' High School were this morning arraigned in court with charges of arson.
The students who appeared in court dressed in school uniform, were charged with malicious damage to property worth 2.9 million Kenya shillings.
They all denied the charges before Chief Magistrate Julius Ngarngar and were released on Sh30,000 cash bail until August 7 when the case will come up for hearing.
The arrests which happened last evening were occasioned by the incident which occurred at the school two weeks ago when the students went on the rampage in the wave of unrest in schools across the country.
Education of over 4000 students in the Nyanza region were affected by the closure of over 15 schools.
