Machakos governor Alfred Mutua has appointed seven ministers after the county assembly failed to approve nominees within 21 days as required by the appointments act. Mutua said he made the appointments in the best interest of Machakos people and in upholding the constitution and rule of law. he read out the names outside his Machakos office in a press conference also attended by his deputy Francis Maliti. Mutua decried that service delivery in Machakos is being hampered by the county assembly that is constantly frustrating government business in the house. The Machakos assembly has been belligerent to the executive since Mutua was re?elected for a second term.
