The Senate Ad hoc committee on the Solai dam tragedy wants the Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiangi to suspend the Nakuru County Commissioner and his deputy plus other senior government officials who are allegedly forcing survivors of Patel dam tragedy to sign indemnify forms absolving from blame the owner of the dam.  Senators accused the police of interfering with the scene of tragedy and wondered whether it was part of a cover-up. Interior Chief Administrative Secretary Patrick Ntutu who appeared on behalf of Matiangi denied knowledge of government officials involvement in compensating victims of Solai.
