A joint parliamentary committee is today expected to question 4 cabinet secretaries in the ongoing probe on contraband sugar in the country. Agriculture cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri, Industrialization CS Adan Mohammed, Treasury CS Henry Rotich and Interior and Coordination cabinet secretary Dr Fred matiang'i are expected to appear before parliament to explain the presence of illicit sugar in the country. A report from the government chemist has established that part of the sugar consignment seized was laced with copper.
