Underreported and Under-treated: The truth about depression in Kenya |Health Digest

Over 300 million people globally suffer from depression, with Kenya having nearly 2 million reported cases according to a World Health Organization 2017 report.

In a country where mental illness is spoken about in hushed tones, data from the report – titled Depression and Other Common Mental Disorders, Global Health Estimates – highlights the need to have candid conversations about depression.
