Four people have been sentenced to five years in jail or a 1.7 million Shilling fine for fraudulently acquiring Constituency Development Fund money in former Eldoret South Constituency, now Kesses in Uasin Gishu.
Those sentenced include Nelson Kimeto, Sylvon Bett, David Martim and Hellen Saina.They are jointly accused of committing the offense on April 6, 2010.
Another two people, Former secretary of CDF in Lukuyani Wycliffe Shipwakula and Susan Njeri were also found guilty and will serve three years in jail or pay a Sh500, 000 fine for receiving a bribe in order to sign cheques in Likuyani Constituency Kakamega county.
Eldoret Chief magistrate Charles Obulutsa who ruled the cases said Kenya is bleeding from Corruption and the charges against the accused cannot be taken lightly.
