Dr. Tatu Kamau says the laws prohibiting Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) are unconstitutional. ?

In a case filed before Justice David Kemei on Wednesday 17, 2017, Kamau says she also wants the abolishment of the Anti-FGM Board, instrumental creating awareness about the matter.

She says the law is unfavorable because it damages cultural practices engraved in different Kenyan communities.

This has not been received well by Kenyans, who took to social media to condemn her actions, as most feel FGM should be completely abolished.
