Kenya joins the list of developed countries who have launched home based satellites into space

Kenya joins the list of 12 countries that have launched its home?designed satellite. University of Nairobi today deployed Kenya’s pioneer satellite into the orbit from the Japan space agency (JAXA) Tsukuba space Centre in Tokyo, Japan. The satellite was developed through a programme known as Kibocube, launched in September 2015, by the United Nations office for outer space affairs and the JAXA. Education CS Amina Mohamed who was present during the launch of the satellite thanked the key stakeholders in the project and said it is one of the biggest steps that Kenya could make in Nanotechnology
