Death toll of the Solai Dam tragedy rises to 49 as legislators visit the bereaved families

11th May, 2018

Meanwhile the death toll in the Solai dam tragedy has now risen to 49. This was after one body of a boy recovered this morning in downstream side of Solai. This came as many families visited the mortuary to identify their loved ones. At least 350 people who are displaced are continuing to receive aid at Solai Boys’ high school. A multi-agency team appointed yesterday continued to assess the integrity of the remaining dams. Several leaders among them Baringo senator Gideon Moi and KANU secretary general Nick Salat visited the area to condole with the families.
