SK Macharia’s son dies after grisly crash in his Porsche 911

27th April, 2018

Triple A Capital and Direct Line Assurance founder John Macharia died Thursday following a grisly road accident.

The entrepreneur, who is the son to Royal Media Services owner SK Macharia, was rushed to the Karen Hospital after crashing into a streetlight along the Nairobi Southern Bypass at about 10pm.

He died while undergoing treatment.

An unidentified passenger, who was with him at the time of the crash survived, but is still undergoing treatment.

The younger Macharia was driving his Porsche 911 at the time of the crash, a car in which he had had another minor accident.

In the November 2016 incident, Macharia rammed into a Toyota Prado along Waiyaki Way in Nairobi.

When he appeared in court soon after, he pleaded guilty to having been driving under the influence of alcohol.

Senior resident magistrate Electra Rianyi who heard his case last year issued Macharia with a fine of Ksh25,000 for the traffic offence.
