The 85 years well lived of Kenya's second liberation hero Stanley Kenneth Njindo Matiba

We start off with sad news. Kenneth Njindo Matiba, a man celebrated as the father of democracy has died. Matiba breathed his last yesterday evening at Karen hospital where he has been admitted for close three weeks. His body has since been moved to lee funeral home in Nairobi. His family confirmed the demise of a man who was detained by the state in the 1990s for agitating for multiparty democracy. The celebrated opposition politician has been ailing since the detention and has been in and out of hospital especially in the recent years. He died before he could lay his hands on compensation for his detention amounting to 945 million shillings awarded by the court. Matiba, also a renowned businessman leaves behind his wife Edith and his five children. Various leaders have sent message of condolence.
