UASU and KUSU maintain the strike is still on until government honors their CBA

9th April, 2018

The university’s academic staff union (UASU) and the Kenya universities staff union (KUSU) have maintained that their strike is still on, until the government tables a counter offer to their proposals for the 2017?2021 CBA. The offer should then be signed and registered with a return to work formula for them to go back to work. The unions have faulted the government for failing to cooperate in the CBA talks saying the ministry of education and the national treasury have been elusive on the matter. They union leadership have asked their members to stay put announcing that they have put in place enough strategies for their strike including holding demonstration in the next two weeks.
