Kirinyaga governor Anne Waiguru today suffered a major blow after the Supreme Court rejected her application to stop fresh hearing of a petition challenging her election. A five judge bench led by chief justice David Maraga ruled that it would be premature to stop the high court from discharging its duties on the case. Former cabinet minister Martha Karua is challenging Waiguru's election in last year's elections.
