The demolition of condemned houses in Nairobi began today with Zimmerman estate. The demolition is conducted jointly by the national construction authority, the Nairobi county government and the ministry of lands and housing.  The exercise seeks to avert the collapse of substandard houses as recently witnessed in parts of Nairobi.
