The national land commission was put on the spot on why it paid Sh. 2.079 billion in compensation for thirteen infrastructural projects without giving details of acreage, plot numbers, bank details and beneficiaries. The commission failed to convince members of the public accounts committee on why it took one year to submit the valuation report and documentation on the said compensation to the auditor general. The auditor general’s office said it will require more time to confirm whether the documents submitted by the commission over the payments were genuine or not.
