Samburu County residents accuse police of brutality against the community

3rd March, 2018

A section of Samburu and Laikipia County leaders have alleged that a police operation in Laikipia County is unfairly targeting one community.

The leaders who were speaking in Muarak area in Laikipia North on Sunday evening blamed Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery of biasness saying that the operations are being carried out with vested interests.

Samburu Governor, Moses Lenolkulal and Samburu North MP Alois Lentoimaga among other local leaders attended the meeting hosted by Laikipia North MP Mathew Lempurkel.

The leaders want the operations stopped saying that the government, through the influence of CS Nkaissery is targeting one community.

Governor Lenolkulal said that if the operations continue, they will use legal intervention to stop the operation and pursue justice for their people.
