54 metal sheet housing units belonging to police officers attached to the central police station in Nairobi were gutted down in a fire suspected to have been started by an electrical fault. The fire started at around 9am and destroyed the structures made of iron sheets. Several gas cylinders in the houses exploded during the incident. Area OCPD Robinson Njiru says the structures house police officers and that they were now considering putting up tents for the affected officers.
