Telkom Kenya has mooted the launch of its mobile money platform. Telkom Kenya, which was formerly orange Kenya, said it is still awaiting its mobile money approval from the central bank of Kenya. According to the communications authority of Kenya, (CAK) in 2017, the number of active mobile money transfer subscriptions and agents stood at 28 million and 184 thousand respectively. In addition, a total of 537 million transactions were made during the period, which was valued at 1.65 trillion shillings. Making the mobile money space a vital revenue stream, Telkom Kenya limited revealed their mobile money plans while launching a 50 car reward promotion drive in what the company says is a celebration of its target of attaining 4 million subscribers.
