Good news for retired civil servants who lose the benefit of a health cover upon retirement

There is good news for retired civil servants who lose the benefit of a health cover upon retirement. The National Hospital Insurance Fund, in partnership with the Kenya association of retired officers. Launched a medical scheme that will see these retirees have a cover of up to 2 million shillings in-patient and 300,000 shillings outpatient upon retirement. The officers will pay premiums of between 60,000 and 100,000 per year to enjoy this medical cover. Approximately 90,000 retired officers are set to benefit from this comprehensive cover. This scheme is aimed at maintaining a continuity of medical cover to civil servants after retirement.
