President Uhuru will exempt all his nominees for the new chief administrative post from vetting

29th January, 2018

President Uhuru Kenyatta will exempt all his nominees for the new chief administrative post from vetting by parliament, along with the 10 re?appointed cabinet secretaries. This emerged as Kenyatta presented to parliament the names of all newcomers to the cabinet.  Raphael Tuju who is Kenyatta's cabinet nominee without a portfolio will also not be vetted. The vetting process appears to be headed to a rocky start as the high court certified as urgent a petition seeking to block his newly created chief administrative secretaries posts.
