Ksh.75M set aside for water project in Taita Taveta

The County government of Taita Taveta has set aside sh.75M in the budget to purchase borehole drilling machine as a solution of historical water problem in most of the areas. Speaking In Kajire the Taita Taveta governor H.E Granton Samboja said together with County Assembly they had agreed to priorities solving water problem which was supported by MCAs after approving supplementary budget with sh. 75M budget to purchase borehole drilling machine. Governor Samboja added that residents in most of the affected areas will be able to do farming from the borehole water which will be drilled in each ward after a water survey. Samboja who was the chairperson Coast water service board before joining politics said during his time he had ensured taking of 42B Mzima 2 water project which will also boost water supply in the entire County. Residents of marungu, mbololo, Kishushe, Maktau, Mlilo, Kasighau and others are the most affected places which has also negatively impacted on education levels as parents and children walk long distance looking for water.
